Author Bio

Priscilla Tallman is a Mental Performance coach who trains athletes to have a healthy relationship with their sport, their teammates and themselves. Using her education in Clinical Psychology and her experience as a coach and athlete, she blends mental performance skills and mental health education into her work. She has trained more than 500 athletes on her journals and multiple coaching staffs and teams, including several Division 1 beach volleyball programs and professional athletes abroad.

Tallman played collegiate volleyball for The University of Georgia where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology as a student-athlete. In 1993 & 1994, she earned First Team All-America honors, SEC Freshman of the year in 1991, SEC Player of the Year in 1994, 1st Team All-SEC 1991-1994 and was inducted into Georgia’s prestigious Circle of Honor in 2006. She also played professional volleyball in Geneva, Switzerland and was a member of the USA National Team in 1994 and as a member of The World University Games Team in 1995.

After her playing career, she went back to school and graduated with her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Vanguard University. In 2016, she returned to coaching at the high school and club level and in 2018 she made the jump to collegiate sports as the Volunteer Assistant for Arizona State University beach volleyball team. In 2021, she became the Assistant Beach Volleyball coach at Arizona Christian University in Phoenix, AZ. In addition to coaching, she has co-written and authored two nationally published performance journals “30 Day Champions Journal” as well as “30 Day Return to Play Journal” and provides performance and mindset coaching to youth, club and collegiate athletes.

This blog is a collection of her own opinions, stories and process. Her passion is to pass on the love of sports to young athletes who want to find their greatness, build character through sports and share her personal stories of playing, coaching and parenting athletes.
